We're issuing a $500 award for dance choreography and a $100 award for the submission with the most votes.

The Masterwork Foundation Online Dance Competition is being offered to recognize an emerging choreographer in dance. It's important to note that submissions will not be evaluated for the quality of the dance performance alone. Submissions will be evaluated on the quality of their overall composition as a dance work.

Contest participants are encouraged to send a $25 tax-deductible donation to qualify at:

The Masterwork Music and Art Foundation

PO Box 1116

Madison, NJ  07940

A panel of judges, all dance professionals, will review all submissions. Among them, Denise Roberts Hurlin (former Paul Taylor Dancer, Executive Director and Founder of Dancers Responding to AIDS), Marcus McGregor (for Dance Theater of Harlem Dancer and Education and Community Director of the Petronio Residency Center) and Robert LuPone (The original Zak in Michael Benet's Chorus Line and Artistic Director of the MCC Theater).
